This year’s Afrikatag took place in perfect weather on the grounds of the Schleswig-Holstein-Haus.
Togo Jetzt!, together with Couleurs Afrik e.V. and the Schools for Xai Xai initiative, was responsible for the entire organization of the event for the first time. A total of 14 associations and initiatives were present at their information booths to inform the many guests about their projects. Couleurs Afrik provided food and drink from African cuisine, and the band Gambo la Uxica, with their guest Dino Miranda from Mozambique, played reggae and Marrabenta. In front of the stage, visitors could watch a play from Ghana, a performance by the children’s dance group from Lankow, and a piece by the Lysistrate dance theater from the “Goethe-Gymnasium”, Schwerin.
Our exhibition on the topic “Successful Integration in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania – Portraits of People with African Roots” was on display at the shopping mall “Marienplatz Galerie” from August 10, 2024, to September 6, 2024. It was very well received and on display again at the Africa Day. The proceeds from sales and donations at our information stand will again be used for our project work.
