Take advantage of opportunities in your own country

Worldwide microcredits are an important way to strengthen the rights of women in countries of the Global South. A single microcredit does not only pave the way for setting up a business, it can also ensure the livelihood of a whole family

Microcredit: We are looking for sponsors!

Microcredits create at least a small possibility for investment and are the lifeline people need to help themselves out of the poverty trap. They support the principle of “helping people help themselves” and do not fall into the realm of donations or alms, which ultimately prove to be only a drop of water in the ocean. This is why it is so important to start poverty eradication at the grassroots level and with the people themselves, as the pioneer of global microcredit, Muhammad Yunus, has emphasized.

Empowering Women

Microcredits enable women to start or expand their own small businesses. In this way, they can make a significant contribution to family income. They not only improve the social standing of women; they also increase the voices of women within the family structure. The women’s self-confidence and self-esteem are strengthened.

Esther Folly, trained baker.

We support Esther Folly, a trained baker

Esther is a trained baker and, thanks to a microloan, has started her own bakery in downtown Lomé. Together with the people who support her locally, she has now found a suitable retail space that offers enough room for her work and her new oven. Esther was previously employed at a bakery, and as a young mother, she also has to ensure that her young child is well cared for.

Esther purchased this oven in June 2023 to start up her bakery. We would like to thank all the donors who have made it possible for us as an association to support Esther.

At this point, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Schämer for his generous donation!

We support trained seamstress Ina Koussougbo

Ina is a trained seamstress and has used her skills to start her own business. She took advantage of a microloan from our association to do this. Ina chose a retail space in downtown Lomé, which she has since used as her studio and workshop. The dedicated seamstress already has a young apprentice who will be training with her for three years.

Dorcas, cook.

Dorcas completed an apprenticeship as a cook.

Dorcas is the first young woman whose training we were able to finance. This young Togolese woman successfully completed her apprenticeship and remains very dedicated. In Togo, apprentices often pay a tuition fee, which many young people cannot afford. We are pleased that we were able to make Dorcas’s training possible with the funds from our association. Dorcas has since started her own bistro in Lomé. Togo Jetzt! will continue to try to support the young cook’s projects with our funds. Dorcas will employ at least one other person in her fast-food restaurant.

Your support is welcome. You can support our association Togo JETZT! e.V. in various ways.
With just 10 Euros / $ 12 per month.
