The village community of Issaté is located in the rural northwest of Togo, approximately 90 km from Tchamba. Here, too, the issue arises that many children and young people wish to attend school but lack the necessary school supplies—such as notebooks, pens, and the required school uniforms.
Issaté is very remote and difficult to access due to extremely poor road conditions. Families there live in difficult economic circumstances and are often unable to cover the costs of their children’s school supplies themselves.
Our contact person, Ms. Afo-Alalai – who recently became a member of our association Togo Jetzt! –visited the area and fully documented the distribution of school supplies in a transparent manner.
Video clips recorded by Ms. Afo-Alalai show her purchasing the school supplies and subsequently distributing them to the children in the presence of the school principal and the local imam.
Togo Jetzt! is planning further projects in the Issaté region in consultation with Ms. Afo-Alalai.
