Togo Jetzt! at the festival Dreescher Stadtteilfest, June 21st  2025

On June 21st 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Togo Jetzt! participated for the first time in the neighborhood festival “Dreescher Stadtteilfest” together with other associations and initiatives from Schwerin that are committed to African issues.

In perfect summer weather, all participants were able to present themselves at their respective booths in the area in front of the television tower of Schwerin. There was an engaging stage program, numerous hands-on activities, and culinary delicacies.

At our own information booth, Togo Jetzt! provided information about our project work in Lomé, sold jewelry from Togo, and organized a raffle for children with valuable prizes (children’s books on anti-racism, migration, and identity, as well as toys from the “Weltladen Schwerin”, our local Fair Trade shop). The proceeds will go back into our project work.

In addition, we were once again able to present our successful photo exhibition “People with African Roots in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania,” which was already on display in 2024 at the shopping mall “Marienplatz-Galerie” in Schwerin and at the 2024 Africa Day at the Schleswig-Holstein House in Schwerin.
